  5. Conclusion

I have been called upon by my company to give a presentation on the quarterly sales information at an in-person meeting to a group of stakeholders, managers, salespeople, and customers. Before I prepare my presentation, I need to figure out who is going to be in my audience. Audience analysis is crucial when preparing a well given, and a well received, presentation. In order to make sure my audience gains as much as possible out of my presentation, I need to gather as much information as I can about my audience. Below I will briefly discuss the things I will take in to consideration about my audience before preparing my presentation. ?A well prepared speech given to the wrong audience can have the same effect as a poorly prepared speech given to the correct audience. They both can fail terribly? (Laskowski, 1996, A.U.D.I.E.N.C.E. Analysis ? It's Your Key To Success, para. 1.)

The first thing I will consider is the characteristics of my audience. The culture of my audience is huge factor in how my presentation is perceived, I will talk more in depth about culture further along my paper, but I feel that it necessary to bring it up early. The diversity of the audience is another thing that will come in to play in my presentation. Things I will need to consider will be the age, race, gender, and possibly the religious beliefs of my audience.

[...] In order for any speech or presentation to be effective, you need to play to the audience. I will make sure that the audience can understand and indentify with the material. Also, one big step in ensuring that my presentation is successful is that I have at least one person proof read my presentation. By having someone proofread the presentation before it is given will help ensure me that I have not made any mistakes or included any material that one might find offensive. [...]
