Although faced with the emergence of new management methods and development of new information technologies and communication, the company has faced a tougher competition before reaching its leadership position and in a context of growing internationalization. It is precisely its adaptation to globalization that is the reason for the French group's success.

To better understand how Cap Gemini has been able to develop a global phenomenon and take advantage of globalization to consolidate its position as world leader in consulting, here are three points in the presentation of its international operations, products offered in more than 32 different countries as well as many of its alliances, acquisitions and contracts: strategic tool for expansion. Finally, in conclusion, an exemplary leader in internationalization policy will be presented: the case of India.

Founded by Serge Kampf in Grenoble in 1967, Cap Gemini has become a world leader in the field of IT services.
The internationalization of the Group and the gradual extension of its range of services are the result of a strategy of acquisitions and organic growth, enabling it to be present in over 30 countries and offer its customers a complete service, from management consulting to the local professional services through outsourcing and systems integration.

The acquisition of Ernst & Young Consulting in May 2000 helped to establish the Group's international dimension by tripling the size of its operations in North America (the first global market for IT services), while increasing in other regions such as Germany.

In 2006, the global economy has continued, resulting in a high demand market strategy consulting and management. The year was marked by mergers and acquisitions in many industries, the emergence of industrial giants China and India (presented in the next section) showing a strong desire for expansion, the transformation of Western companies and the reorganization of their processes .

Companies have stepped up calls to providers to help them integrate these acquisitions, transforming their organizations on a global scale. Cap Gemini offers its customers precisely to facilitate their integration into the international market and can benefit from the development of these emerging countries.
Meeting the demands of its major clients, Cap Gemini offers its powers international systematic creation of centers of excellence for the entire business advice. The group's products have an international dimension, meeting the requirements of multinational companies.

Driven by a more favorable general economic conditions, the Group's customers are investing in major projects while continuing cost reductions. The big bosses innovate and grow while saving money by setting up a global sourcing strategy, the use of offshore and reducing the number of beneficiaries is a competitive advantage in the fight to the hegemony.

Innovation, Cap Gemini has taken a proactive stance on open source prevalent in the French administration. The Group has won one of the first maintenance contracts of this type in the Ministry of Finance. A specific offer of open source called "OSS Partner" was launched.
