- Articulation of the text
In our society today, there is wide media coverage of efforts of prevention against obesity with an advertising campaign focused on sugary and fatty foods. This prevention is paralleled with an idealization of thin woman. This pressure leads to increase in eating disorders. They now affect about 1% of the population in Western countries. Anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorders are three of the most harmful eating behaviors. Some areas are well known for being the centre of these disorders while in others the subject is taboo. This paper focuses on APTT in the field of sports. It seems important to focus and engage on this topic, as it is our duty as health professionals to detect signs of an eating disorder.
