Is art appreciated because of its creativity or its technique? The first problem is the identification of art. A set of criteria is required to distinguish what art is and what it is not

Can we reduce art to a technique or does art possess unique characteristic that define them?
It is said that art often captures the concept of beauty, so one should think about the definition of beauty.

A definition:

Art is often confused with its technique i.e. with all the artificial means used by humans to produce objects. To understand how art has evolved to become a very special productive activity, one must analyze a work of art.

The artwork does not fall within the category of utility and is transhistorical (over time) and unique.
While modern technology is considerably closer to our works (reproduction, recording.), we cannot say if it is more familiar. Any work, especially a great work (like those of Don Giovanni by Mozart, a Bach Passion, a painting by Cezanne) has a cohesiveness and unity that refers primarily to itself.

How can we tell that this object is a work of art and another is not? What criteria does it fulfill?
