Ever since its emergence, the media has been reserved for men. It is only very recently that women have made their appearance. So, it seemed interesting to ponder on women and the media. The first idea that came to us was to ask what people thought of the media and its use. To put our subject in its context, it seemed important to define the position of women journalists in the media. We also look at the way they treat their subject of the woman. We finally chose a subject that touched us most: the image of women in the media. It seemed important to compare the image that we present to be given for the emancipation of women in the event of May 68. We wanted to see if there was an evolution. We chose to measure this evolution through different media. First, we discuss the representation of the woman given by the press through the language employed, the political status of women and women's magazines. In the second part, we cover the image of women in radio and television regarding the various radio and television programs. Then, we discuss how films perceive women. In addition, we will devote a portion to the representation of women in advertising because it is a pervasive element in the media and conveys a certain image of women.
