Google, a multibillion dollar company that has changed the way the world searches for information, had a very humble beginning. What started out as merely a great idea for a new algorithm eventually transformed into a complex and extremely sophisticated system for ranking pages and making Internet search much more efficient. The founders of Google, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, have established various sets of principles that make up the core values of Google, such as "Don't be evil". Treating employees with utmost care and making them a priority has also been a very important element of the Google philosophy, and Google has even been ranked as the number one place to work. By incorporating these values into the company's mission statement and overall purpose, the founders of Google have been able to create a profitable, powerful, and extremely successful company.

While Google is always focusing on developing new projects and continuously being innovative, they never forget about their core mission and the principles on which the company was initially founded. [...] The philosophies at Google are derived from the mindsets of the founders. Sergey Brin, for example, comes from the Soviet Union and immigrated to the United States with his Jewish family. His parents always stressed that higher education was an essential pursuit that must be taken, and they themselves were very much involved in academia throughout their lives. Brin always excelled at mathematics and was often the brightest in his class, and in the hiring process, Brin selects those who he feels share similar values about education and intelligence (Malseed, 2007).
