The phenomenon of globalization entails the construction of a new geographical domain of international trade. This dynamic is slowly changing towards a global intensification of economic interdependence. However, this evolution remains mixed across sectors and regions of the world. Indeed, while there is still a bias in international trade around the three poles of the Triad countries, there is currently a major reshaping of the geography of trade owing to the economic unification of the European Union and the emergence of new industrial countries such as the 'four dragons'.

In addition, the expansion of intra-South has shaken the hierarchy of domination and the pre-established commercial power relations. Despite an overall positive development, the redistribution of international trade is accompanied by an exacerbation of antagonism between different economic entities. MNCs have a paramount role in the evolution of international trade through foreign direct investment (FDI). This investment is realized in two ways: by building a production site or purchasing an existing plant
