Brittany's climate is influenced by the ocean that borders it. It is washed by the warm waters of the North Atlantic Drift and enjoys a mild climate with frequent rains. The times of these rains are variable and sometimes accompanied by strong winds.
In this region we can see a difference in the climatic conditions and natural resources between the interiors and the broad coastal strip. The sea is the source of the richness and dynamism of Armor.
The variety of resources in the areas:
One of the major, possibly the most important, resources for this area is the fish. They have a big fishing industry with 30% of the fleet and manpower, and it contributes to nearly 50% of the French.
This region has a strong tradition of fishing (a practice that has been present since the seventeenth century). It has a wide continental shelf that attracts a lot of fish, it also has a rugged coastline with spots that one can dock one's boat.
Coastal fisheries, generally use rather small artisanal boats, small trawlers that engage in short tides (1 to 4 days). They fish for high-value products such as scallops Jacques (Bay e Saint-Brieuc), crabs and spiders (Erquy Audierne), lobsters, bars, flatfish etc.
