A non-governmental organization (NGO) is a public interest organization that is neither a government or an international institution. An NGO is a private actor participating in an international school of thought supported by an international institution. Marcel Merle defines NGO as "Any group, association or movement made sustainable by individuals from different countries to the pursuit of non-objective lucrative".
