To understand Israel better, it is essential to know its political parties. Israel one of the few countries in the world that has a unicameral Parliament that is elected with accordance to proportions.A party should make up for only 1.5% of the voices that are to be represented among the 120 deputies of Knesset (2% at the time of the next legislature following a modification of the electoral law).

Therefore, they do not require political parties to make alliances before the elections.A multitude of parties exist in this State and they are of varying sizes and variable influences.

On the other hand, no party can gain complete control without forming a coalition.
