The suggestion of making the Emerson College's dining hall containing strictly vegetarian and vegan cuisine is a very bad idea. It is a bad idea for the students, the faculty, and the institution as a whole. In Bridging the Vegetarian Gap, an article written by Eileen Curtis in July 206, the issue of vegetarian options in public places was discussed. She wrote, ?Statistics on the number of American vegetarians vary from 2.5 percent to nearly 7 percent of the population.

[...] Another strong problem with turning the dining hall of Emerson College into vegetarian cuisine only is that it would be very bad for the institution. A strong pull for applicants and their parents is the food option for the student. Parents want to know that their child will be healthy and get the nutrients they need, including protein and meat. Students want to enjoy what they are eating and have the option of having a hamburger, or a chicken Cesar salad. [...]
