Technologist has been pushing technology boundaries beyond our imagination. This has given rise to the digital world and technology is being used as a medium of expression, learning, entertainment and interaction. This has made digital devices the most important part of the human being. This is due to the simplification of technology and the ability of the digital devices to perform multiple tasks at the same time. This makes the devices better than the human memory since humans lack the ability to carry out multiple tasks at the same time. This has therefore increased overreliance on digital devices for carrying out several tasks. Today there are more than two billion people that are connected to the Internet and utilising different Internet platforms (Gee 2010).

[...] The devices have been adopted as artificial memories and their portable nature has allowed humans to carry stored information that they have anywhere they go. This has thus changed the society with so many effects that the digital revolution has brought to the society. People have become addictively hooked the web: the invention of the world wide is the greatest mark that changed the world to a global village. People have been able to easily interact and access information from all parts of the world. [...]

[...] Google as a company has developed many applications that have increased the presence of people on the Internet. The society has greatly benefited from Internet research due to the globalization of the world. People are able to easily share information across different platforms within the society. [...] Tracing of information has been made easy with the presence of different applications. It has become easy to track people through using image-recognition software that is able to compare different images of people to give the right result. This has been used by security agencies in tracking those who break the law. Many organizations within the society have developed different software that is used in tracking different digital platforms. This has thus made it easy for security agencies t carry out their tasks since they can easily track the activities and patterns of life of different people. [...]

[...] For example the US Navy used the Massive Multiplayer Online War Game Leveraging the Internet (MMOWGLI) to combat Somali pirates while Italian medical students used the ?Nintendo to improve their medical skills. Technology has also increased the ability of people to synthesise information based on certain facts. For example people with smart phones are able to download certain applications that are able to even diagnose medical problems and only go to the physician for treatment. For example before Google was invented people used to go to health facilities to get diagnosed before treatment but recently, patients are able to diagnose themselves and take the results to the physician for prescription. [...] Google gathers information from its users in different ways (Kendall 2013). The IP address request that the clients uses based on cookies and personalisation of the individual account or computer, this makes Google to be able to track the users and gather specific information from them. Through data collection, Google is able to determine who has used the specific site or utilised specific data. Due to the digitalization of information in the digital form, whatever is done on the Internet leaves a trace that is captured by different digital location; this forms a huge database that is used to store all the information that has ever been utilised on the Internet.
