We went near Digne to observe the geology and paleontology of the region. The site is geologically rich mainly because it allows the reconstruction of the formation of the Alps. One can understand the changing landscape, the formation of rocks, the layering, and all phenomena related to plate tectonics since the Triassic. These are related to the movements of the European and African plates. From a paleontological point of view, the site helps discover the animals that lived near Digne, their time of existence, where they evolved and some of their physical or behavioral characteristics. This lets you know what the context of the region was at that time. Our report begins by discussing the times when the context was extensive, and then explain the phenomena created by the compression context.
