Taking hallucinogenic drugs can be a trip down heaven or hell. Hallucinogens are a type of drug that distorts or alters the way a person perceives the world. Taking hallucinogens is like entering into a completely different world which simultaneously became part of the human world. The emerge of hallucinogens has two every opposite but unique results. These results are known as a trip to ?heaven? or a trip to ?hell?. A trip to ?heaven? means that that the results were a success. A trip to ?hell? means uncomfortable, scary feelings. These two complete opposite effects do have one common result both of them are mind altering effects.
[...] Hell trip A trip is uncomfortable and scary. It makes the user feel like being in some sort of scary movie. user has nightmarish hallucinations, extreme panic, paranoia and nausea? (Levert 73). A hell trip is like being in a zombie like state. The user becomes aggressive and everything around them makes them paranoid. ?Lousy, depressed and anxious was all I felt? (Baily 1). Everything that can scare a person in reality intensifies in a hallucinogen. It may even seem like the person is actually in hell. [...]
[...] The physical effects include dilated pupils, higher body temperature, increased heart rate, blood pressure, sweating, and loss of appetite, sleeplessness, dry mouth, and tremors. The user may feel several different emotions at once or can swing rapidly from one emotion to another. If LSD is taken in a large dose then the drug produces delusions and visual hallucinations. The users sense of time and self changes giving feelings of hearing colors and seeing sounds. Users experience severe, terrifying thoughts and feelings such as fear of losing control, fear of insanity and death, and despair. [...]
