For this part of my report, I'm going to present you Finland in different aspect. And, to compare, I'm going to present you Estonia and Leetonia too because these countries are near Finland but there are different in lots of aspects. Finland, officially Republic of Finland, is a Nordic country located in the North of Europe in the Fennoscandian Peninsula. It is bordered by Russia in the East; Sweden is the West and Norway in the North. The area is 338, 424 km², which is composed mainly by water and forests. The country is unequal in term of surface because the greatest length from north to south is 1 160 km while the greatest width from east to west is 540 km. More exactly there are 187 888 lakes, 179 584 islands and Forest covers 86% of the country's area. With 5.4 million people who lived there and a density of population around 15.8 inhabitants per km2, Finland is the most sparsely populated country in the European Union. However, in a term of area Finland is the eighth largest country in Europe. (A short history of Finland, Fred Singleton, 1998)
