The processes and systems set to prevent and mitigate crime, impose criminal punishments to those who violate the law and recommend rehabilitation is criminal justice. (Banks, 2013).Criminal justice ethics focuses on enforcement of the law being guided by social institutions and values. A compromise of the values such as corruption in a police department, bribery in the judiciary and smuggling of contraband into prisons by correctional officers is not only unethical but also a criminal offence. Corruption is a deliberate dishonest behavior.
