A community can be generalized as a place where people with similar interests and lifestyles dwell together in healthy unison. Since the Romantics, a theme that reappears in literature often is alienation. Despite this, the concept of community is still present in such works as Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange, and Alan Sillitoe's The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner. However, in these examples, as well as other examples that embody a sense of community, the stereotypical concept of the word is redefined by each write in their own interpretations.
