Laptops are now a very essential commodity for Indian consumers. They constitute a large portion of the electronic market in India. If these laptops are not marketed properly and are not in the Indian consumers' eye, the more established brands are likely to rule the roost and the other models tend to get ignored. Thus, it was important to first understand the brand image Wipro laptops in the minds of the consumers. Hence, the survey was created and responses were recorded. Wipro is now entering the retailing sector of the electronic market with their laptop segment. My survey was targeted specifically to the age group of 18-25, mainly the student segment of the laptop market. My survey helped Wipro understand what the current trends of laptops in the market are, what specifications of the laptops are now needed in the market and so on. With entering the retailing sector, Wipro now wants to customize their laptops to suit individuals' needs. The survey would help to design a model that would have the latest trends. Customized versions of the laptops would be added to the basic model. The reports discusses the detailed results of the survey and the ways in which survey can help Wipro to develop their laptops, as well as to enter the retailing segment of the laptop mark.
[...] Summary of the Survey The survey population mainly consisted of Business School users, Second being the Engineering, the following can be inferred from the survey, Figure A user looks for a high performance computer which is easily available Cost looks like a very important factor as users are ready to spend on a notebook if they are sure of the warranty and after sales support Brand image plays an important role and thus boosts up the sales Storage space in a notebook might not look like a feature to be highlighted but shockingly users look for good memory management and better storage features in a notebook Customer Satisfactions is guaranteed if the product has good customer support, after sales support Last but not the least, the trend in buying/using a notebook pc is increasing. The market needs more variety to chose from, more features and customization options The end result is to ascertain and analyze the role of above factors with respect to the student who can be the potential customers of a notebook. [...] Next, a set of questions targeted at the Wipro as a whole was put forward. These questions required basic knowledge of the products. Lastly questions which brought out the Users desirable features or enhancements type of questions were formulated.
