Any business organization has various challenges in its operation, therefore, the organization, through the management should make sure that the organization operates towards the objectives of the organization. One of the organizations that face such challenges is the Global Airline Services, which operates in Europe to provide local and international service. Apart from dealing with flight of passengers, the organization also provide goods transits through air transportation to cater for the businesspersons across Europe. In the process of serving the public, the organization faces the problem of overbooking, a situation whereby the management team dealing with the advertising, promoting and booking services ends up booking more passengers as compared to the number of spaces they can provide. According to the management, the main reason for doing so is to for some of the empty seats that may be vacant during the flight due to failure of some passengers to report on the due date and time of travelling.
In the process of practicing overbooking, it creates problem most of the time especially during summer seasons as there more passengers travelling from one destination to another. Through this, it might drive customers away. For instance, customers who may delay in the airport due to overbooking may seek for another other flights instead. Therefore, the management should consider various factors before involving in such practices.
