Therapeutic relationships are the connections built between health professionals and their clients. It is often described as the process of building rapport. Health professionals can only provide care when they understand their patient's needs. To know this, they must communicate with the patient.
Therapeutic relationships foster open communication. The process is to make the patients feel safe and supported by the clinician.
