An electric car is made up of one or more electric motors which are usually powered by a battery. The goal of manufacturing these vehicles is to reduce the carbon footprint. But the idea of the electric vehicle does not date from today. In 1834 Thomas Davenport, an American created the first electric vehicle that was a miniature train. In 1835, on a reduced scale, the first experimental electric car was built by Groningen in the Netherlands. In November 1881, the first electric vehicle was exhibited in Paris. It was named La Tilbury. It was presented by Gustave Found, Camille Alphonse, Nicolas Raffard and Charles Jeantaud. In addition, in 1895, Charles Jeantaud was the pilot of an electric vehicle for the race Paris-Bordeaux-Paris.
Between 1996 and 1999, the first electric car that is truly "modern" was produced and sold. It was produced by General Motors and called EV1.
Nowadays, we can find various companies producing and selling electric vehicles. We can cite the example of Tesla, one of the companies of Elon Musk. The trend of this market is constantly developing and expanding.
